For My Record: Six Months

The twins are SIX months old.

They are so much fun and so interactive. It is so amazing to watch them grow and develop their little personalities. They are so different from each other.

Six month progress report with pictures from the last couple weeks.

Lukey Luke:

I kid you not the boy can almost say, mom! He looks at me and says mmmmmmm. He tries to mimic any sound you make at him. He is a genius, I know. So verbal this kid. Oh and he says, "guy guy guy" like Porter used to.
He also makes a lot of funny faces like this.

He loves everybody but is especially fond of my mom. If he even sees her he starts shaking his arms in excitement and reaching for her to pick him up. He will even go to her from me! I know.
This is them one night when Luke didn't want to sleep and needed his grandma. (I really need to do something about those crazy long old man hairs! I have cut the top twice now.)

He gives huge kisses. He will grab your face with both hand and go right in for a big ol smacker!
He can stand at his little activity table all by himself! For a minute or two.
He squeals and screams like crazy. He is constantly making some noise.
My favorite thing he does is with my dad. They play this airplane game and my dad starts telling Luke he is going to 'take-off.' Luke gets so excited and starts shaking his arms then my dad lifts him up in the air and swoops him around and says, "flying baby!" Luke just yells and screams every time he gets in the air. We all think its pretty much the cutest thing EVER! Naturally.
He has become such a smiley, happy baby.
He still does not sleep through the night. He wakes up at least once to eat and at least 400 times for his binky. I could do some type of sleep training thing but I can't.
They both take one good 2-3 hour or so nap a day (without giving binkys every second) and then two shorter naps. Honestly I can't wait until they just need the one, middle of the day, nap.
Luke is an excellent eater and hardly gets one drop on his face. He loves his baby food especially all the fruits and the sweet potatoes. Its so sad to eat in front of them because they reach for and want everything.
He is also a bit of a jealous little thing and he has the most irresistible pouty face and the biggest, fattest tears.

Auber Bob:

She is so mobile. She can get anywhere she wants to go by scooting and rolling. Her scoot is so cute she gets her knees up underneath her and then kicks her legs out which moves her forward or she pulls herself with her little arms.
She makes the cutest little kissing noise by sucking in her bottom lip and she constantly does it. Like this:

She also purses her lips and spits when she is mad.
She is still pretty quiet, but she is starting to talk more and more.
Porter thinks she is pretty much a prima ballerina. She does do some pretty cute ballet-esq moves in the bouncer. I'm always hearing from Porter, "Oh look at sissy sis she is doing a pretty ballet move!" or "Good ballet move Auber Bobbers!"
She thinks her feet are the best snack ever.

Aubree never holds still she is constantly bouncing or wiggling.
She loves me. She is a momma's girl. She also loves Jason, my dad and my sister, Claire, and my friend Natalie. Thats it. Lately if anyone else holds her she freaks out.
Aubree can sleep through the night and she does sometimes but if we are getting up to feed Luke then we just feed her too, just in case. Probably not the best idea but it helps keep them on the same schedule.
Aubree is a pretty good eater, a little messier. She likes fruit and veggies equally. Except for peas. Have you ever smelled baby food peas? Disgusting!
She is very grabby and has fast hands and a tight grip and everything goes in her mouth. This is about the 5th time she stole Luke's binky in a row and I finally got my camera out. Love her face, binky stealing is serious business.

They have their actual six month baby well check one week from today. I am excited to see how much they've grown, but not for shots.

This is them today. I know babylegs are really not all that socially acceptable for little boys but I think Luke just looks too cute in them. I won't make him go out in them in public or anything though. They were not into me taking their pictures today. They both took a nice little nap right after this!

I always get asked how they get along or if they are aware of each other. They are definitely aware of each other. Luke is pretty much terrified of Aubree. She loves him and just wants to grab him and eat him up but he is not into it at all.

Luke doesn't really like the bouncer most of the time. I had him in it this morning so I could change Aubree. He was getting fussy so Porter hooked him up with a blanket, binky and his glow worm without me even asking him to. I thought it was pure tender.

My happy baby girl.

Ash, these guys are so cute! That's funny that Aubree doesn't like peas, Brooky LOVES them. Porter looks like the BEST big brother. They are all darling!
