Bingham Family Update

I have not posted forever (again).

Thanksgiving was great. Roger and his family came and stayed with us again. Porter and Lucy had a blast as always and Amy and I got to stay up late chatting.

Here is the bi/tri-annual pic of them on the stairs.

Porter has kept us busy as usual.

He loves to go to Target and always wants to go, which is usually fine with me. In his effort to get me to go one day he told me, "I left my happy face at Target. Can we go get it?" (Happy face meaning his actual smiling face, like he was not going to smile until we went to Target.)

A few nights ago after picking him up from my grandparent's house and driving home he was being a total grump-a-roo. He was kicking my chair and whining and carrying on about nothing. I told him he better fix his attitude and then like any good mother I proceeded to ignore him. A few minutes later he said, " I broke it momma!" I asked him what he broke and he said, "My attitoo and I only have one attitoo not both!"

Another time Porter and I were in the room with the Christmas tree and the wrapped Christmas presents sitting on the floor chatting. I told him I needed to get going and that he needed to come with me and leave the room with the tree and presents. He did not want to and was ticked at me when I insisted. He said, "awwww!" then he put both his hands in front of his chest, palms together and thrust them towards me (like a chest pass kind of) and said very angrily, "I just threw a fit at you!"

He also calls me by my first name the majority of the time. It annoys the crap out of me, but its kinda cute how he says my name, Ahwee. Often times he will add my middle name in there too and that sounds like Ahwee Bashelle. I don't know why he can get the "sh" sound in my middle name and not my first. Perplexing.

As you may have gathered he is going through a bit of a 'phase' (I hope) right now. Don't get me wrong I am a super proud mom. I'm pretty sure he is the cutest thing I have ever seen. When we went to his three year old check-up his Dr. and nurses were amazed at how tall and cute he was. His Dr. also told me he was VERY verbally and socially advanced and I agree. Yep proud mom here (if you couldn't tell already by this blog that is devoted pretty much entirely to him). All that being said, the kid will NOT go poop on the potty! Yes he is nearly three and a half and very bright may I remind you, but no, not potty trained. The pee thing he has down just fine. I feel like we have tried everything, so after about 5 months of trying EVERYTHING we have recently reverted back to diapers and backed off... I have no idea if this is completely the wrong way to handle this, but I just don't know what else to do. One of the first and few times he did go on the potty it freaked him out and he said, "Ah! Oh No! Somteen happneen to my bum!" So I guess he has some kind of pooping phobia. Let me just mention he knows all his letters by sight and all their sounds and can even sound out a few words. He is no dummy, just stubborn or wacky I guess. He could care less when he poops too. He told me the other day, "I just pooped in my pants." when I asked him why he said, "Cuz its my favorite, poopin my pants is my favorite." Just like that word for word and completely matter of fact. He has also told me he likes to sit in his poop. Grrrr. What to do?

Whew that was a bit of a rant. Christmas was great. Porter was so fun this year and completely spoiled.

This is our friend, Terry, he has an amazing Santa costume and came to our house and talked to Porter and brought him some presents (and all of us some too). When he came to our house he walked in the front door and jingled his bells. Porter literally sprang from my lap and and yelled, "NOOOOOOOOO!" as he ran to the door. I think he thought he was going to miss him. After Terry/Santa left Porter said, "that was the real Santa!" And every time someone asked him if Santa was going to come see him and bring him some presents Porter would say, "he already did - he brought me an orange car!" Thanks so much Terry you are seriously so amazing! We love you!

Porter knows that Last Christmas I gave you my heart song it is pretty much the cutest thing ever!

Just some pics of Christmas morning. Jason recorded it all on video as I helped Porter so we didn't take many pics.

Our cute niece Brinley is getting baptized this week and we are so proud of her and the choice that she has made. She is seriously the sweetest, cutest, most loving gal ever. She is such an awesome example of love and kindness to us. I am getting all teary eyed just thinking about her. Yes she is just that fabulous! I am so sad that we won't be able to be there to spend her special day with her.

We are off to Disneyland!!! YAY! When we come back Porter will be a Sunbeam! And Jason and I get to keep our same primary class! I am so glad I love those kids so much they are the best.
