My Kids are Messy

Luke and Aubree turned fourteen months on the twelfth and I don't think I even updated about them last month...

When they turned thirteen months I made them brownies with chocolate frosting.

Porter enjoyed it too.

Porter had a bag of goldfish crackers out... This is what happened .2 seconds after I set the babies down from their highchairs...

Luke did it but Aubree was in little piggy heaven.

THIS is what I had to resort to when Jason was running late, the babies woke up early from their nap and I needed to get a few things done...

Luke is a little sticky. I love how the cheerios are sticking to his face and hand. But Aubree! She was just rubbing her sticky hands all over her face and hair and then she started rubbing the sucker in her hair. She thought she was hilarious.

About to give kisses.

Luke MaGoo. Did I mention he had to get glasses?

They are so messy and into everything but so much fun.

They are starting to try to communicate a lot more. Here are their new 'words' that I can think of...

HoHoHo (both, when we ask what Santa says)
MMM (just Aubree when she is eating something she likes)
UhOh (just Aubree, all day long)
Cracker (just Aubree, sounds like cak-er)
Up (just Luke, sounds like uh)
Night Night (both, sounds like nih nih)
Ne Ne (both, meaning binky)
Ba Ba (both, meaning bottle)
Hi
Bye
mama
dada
bath
more
A bite (just Luke when he wants a bite, sounds like a bye)
Porter (just Luke, sounds like Po)
Grandpa (both, sounds like hapa)
head (just Aubree)
Button (just Luke, sounds like buh)
Dance (just Aubree, sounds like da. She only says it when she is shakin it)
Boo (both, when playing peek a boo)
Dog (just Luke)
ball (just Luke)
Pooh (just Luke, meaning Pooh Bear)
go (just Luke)

They are using the signs, eat, more, milk and bath all day now too. We are working on 'shoes' which Luke has signed a couple of times. I am also starting to work on please, thank-you and cracker...

Animal sounds
Cow (Luke)
Chicken
monkey
elephant
snake
anything that growls
Dolphin
dog (Aubree)
Duck (my favorite. Luke sounds like duck duck duck just like Porter used to say it and when Aubree quacks it sounds like coke coke coke)
They both make a fish face.

They can both point to their heads, eyes, ears, mouth and belly when asked.

It amazes me the things they understand
When I say "are you hungry?" they go to their highchairs and start signing eat.
When we say "do you want to take a bath?" they run to the bathroom.
They throw things in the garbage when I tell them to.
They go put their binkys in their cribs when I tell them to.
They go to the gate when I ask them if they want to go play.
They give each other things when I tell them to.
They come to the diaper changing spot and sit down when I say we need to change their bums.
They blow kisses!

Its crazy how many little directions they can follow. I think they understand pretty much everything.

They are getting along really well too for the most part. They give each other high fives and kisses and hugs. They share pretty well too.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was not so much fun.

Just so you are warned this post is pretty much entirely about puke so if you don't want to read about that you should totally skip this one.

Porter got sick at school on Tuesday afternoon. And by sick, I mean that he threw up all over his entire classroom and all over all the other kids coats (his teacher put them in individual garbage bags for all the parents to take home, awesome). It was all over his shirt and shoes. I walked in his school about ten minutes early and started playing on the little slide with Luke and Sis when the front desk lady came and asked me if I was Porter's mom because he was in the bathroom throwing up. She and another lady came to help me with the babies so I could go help Porter. By the time I got his shirt off I could hear Aubree having a complete come apart all the way across the school. I went to get her and Luke started freaking out too. So I asked if there was a janitor or someone to help clean up the puke and there wasn't. Porter's poor teacher was doing it. The ladies told me to not worry about it and to just go. I think they wanted Porter out before he started again and Luke and Aubree were both still screaming. Anyway I brought Porter home and he threw up another seven times that night!

Jason and I, being the geniuses that we are, thought he was probably having a horrible reaction to the flu mist vaccine. Ha! (I think we were both hoping that was it as we had big plans for the days ahead.)

Thanksgiving after dinner Luke threw-up, a lot, we were at my moms. We were hoping it was just because he ate too much and was playing too hard but knew that probably was not the case. We decided we had better head home just in case and I had not been feeling all that great either. So we left and he threw up as we were pulling out of my parents circle so we turned around and went back inside to clean him up and grab a bucket. He threw up a couple more times on the way home. A one year old throwing up: Saddest. Thing. Ever.

On the drive home I started to get chills and nausea and my back started hurting so I knew I was in for it. As soon as we got home I had to run into the bathroom to throw up. I don't ever remember feeling that sick in my life! My poor boys! Thank goodness for Jason. He slept in Porter's room with Luke and took care of everything. (Porter was sleeping over at my grandparents with his cousin, Lucy. She was up visiting from Idaho for Thanksgiving.) It seriously rocked me. I was down for an entire 24 hours. It seemed like Porter was only down for 10-12 hours and Luke only about four-ish.

Then on Saturday night Jason got it! He bounced back a little quicker then me too but he was really sick. I was just waiting for Aubree to get it. I thought for sure by Monday or Tuesday she would be throwing up too, but somehow the tiny, little, princess avoided it! Phew!

To top it all off my uncle and his family were staying with us. My aunt helped Jason by starting all Luke's pukey laundry and holding him while Jason was changing his clothes that Luke threw up on. I felt so bad for them. I would have been dying if I was in their shoes. I hope they give us a second chance and stay with us again sometime. Luckily they didn't get sick!

Anyway I would say this was my worst Thanksgiving ever. And I have had some really crappy ones, not gonna lie. On the bright side though I did lose a few pounds and not many people can do that around Thanksgiving time. Go me!

Anyway I hope you all had a much better Thanksgiving then we did.

And I took no pictures so this post is pretty much pointless.

Halloween 2011

Halloween was a blast this year.

My sisters both came out to my house to spend the day with us and take the kids trick or treating.

Porter was the red Power Ranger which is very fitting since he has been defeating Nylocks in the back yard after school on an almost daily basis. He keeps me safe with his awesome ninja moves.

Luke and Aubree were little Garden Gnomes. They were so cute but I am so dissapointed with how all the pictures turned out.

Aubree trick or treated a house or two but her legs were nakey so her and daddy went home to pass out candy and watch football and eat nerds because Jason said I don't realize how old they (Luke and Aubree) are and that nerds are a perfectly acceptable Halloween treat for One Year Olds.

Luke absolutely Loved trick or treating. I wish I would have brought my camera for that. He carried his little pumkin bucket and went up to the doors with Porter and just thought he was one of the big kids.

Porter was really funny he would knock and then hide and when the people answered their doors he would jump out and 'scare' them. Then he would say, "trick or treat, Happy Halloween!"

PS. Just so you know I am totally aware that my garden looks super crappy and really needs some attention. I have no idea why I am not embarrassed enough about it not to post pictures of it. Don't judge.

Happy Birthday Luke and Sis and a Little Catchin Up

Luke and Aubree turned ONE! I know I keep saying this but time really does just fly and I can't believe I have two little one year old kiddos running around and acting all toddlerish! Where did my teeny tiny, snuggly little bundles go?

We had our families over for cake and ice cream. I had a lot of fun and I hope everyone else did too. I think Luke and Bobs were a little overwhelmed with all the people. They really are not around a lot of people in little spaces very often.

Bobs looked like this pretty much the whole party and she just wanted to snuggle up with Uncle Matt for the last half of the party. (I wish I had taken a picture of that! Maybe my Grandma did.)

That picture was also our attempt at getting a pic of the birthday babies! Luke just wanted to play with these.

AND our attempts at getting a picture of the family.

Will I ever get a nice family picture again? I'm thinking probably not with three kids. Oh well.

The cake was absolutely delicious And so cute. It was from Sugar Mama's Bakery.

Masked Mickey and Minnie.

The Mummy Mickey and Minnie Smash cakes. The fondant stuff was hands down the most delicious stuff ever! All the big kids kept eating pieces of it after the babies were done. OK I may have too.

Aubers was all business about her cake.

Luke was pretty serious about it too but he usually is when it comes to his food. He did get a little more into it though.

They got lots of fun presents and a ton of very much needed clothes!
When Porter turned one he got into tearing the paper so I was expecting these guys to but they didn't.

Just a bunch of pictures of them....

Luke was bonking his head and thinking it was quite hilarious of himself. Aubers thought he was insane.

"Don't hurt you handsome brother."

Okay its funny.

And for the STATS....

Lukey Luke
Weight: 20 lbs.
Height: 29.5 in

Auber Bobs
Weight: 18 lbs. 10 oz. (is what the Dr wrote down for me but I swear it was 17 lbs. 10 oz. Whatever)
Height: 28.5 in.

They did great at their checkup appointment. They had to have their blood drawn and Lukey didn't even cry! They were not able to get immunized because the clinic at the base had not received the immunization records from our previous doctor's office.

And because I am so behind...

Aubers first piggys! I love them.

And little Mister Luke

Porter, Jason and I made a Haunted House. It was really messy.

And I actually did something off Pinterest that did not involve food!

And this guy has been so cute! (like usual)

All day the other day he called me, 'M'Lady Love' How seriously cute is that?

And Aubree was getting fussy in her highchair and Porter said to her, "Whats the matter sissy? Don't you know there are no Princess' prettier then you?"

I know! He is too sweet.
